The past four weeks have been a whirlwind of creativity, progress, and personal growth for Gran Dead. From making strides on our third album to connecting with fans in new ways, this period has been as challenging as it has been rewarding. Here’s a glimpse into what we’ve been up to:
Evolving Our Sound 🎵
The third album is shaping up beautifully. One-third of the vocals are already recorded, and we’ve been exploring new production techniques to give our music a fresh dynamic. Unlike previous projects where we triple-tracked all vocals for richness, this time we’re focusing on double-tracking key riffs to create a sharper, more deliberate sound.
Using the STL Tones ControlHub plugin has been a revelation, bringing clarity and depth to the mix. As we move into the next stages of production, it’s exciting to see how these techniques will transform the album.
Building Connections with Fans
The response to Into the Fire has been incredible. Sharing photos and updates on Facebook has drawn in new fans and significantly increased plays on ReverbNation. Leveraging past connections, like the old Lockdown page, has been a great way to engage with listeners who’ve followed us from the beginning.
Special thanks to Don Fisher from The Most FM, who continues to support our music. It’s always exciting to see local collectors and radio personalities backing what we do. With the second album still on his wishlist, reaching out feels like the perfect next step to strengthen that connection.
Strengthening Our Online Presence
Over the past month, we’ve been working hard to make it easier for fans to find and follow us online. From uploading tracks to platforms like SoundCloud to building a comprehensive website, every move feels like a step closer to reaching more listeners.
The website has been a creative project in itself, blending professional design with our dark, gritty aesthetic. Balancing style with functionality has been a challenge, but seeing it all come together has been incredibly rewarding.
Looking Ahead
As we continue recording the third album and connecting with fans, the next steps feel exciting and full of potential. This is just the beginning of the journey, and we’re looking forward to sharing every step of it with you.
